With entries for the 2026 Australian Sign and Graphics Association (ASGA) National Sign and Graphics Awards opening in early February, it’s time for print, sign and graphics businesses around the country to start preparing their entries and for industry experts to put up their hands to help judge the competition.

The biennial event will this year mark the 20th anniversary of the industry’s Awards for Excellence, with the competition expecting to attract hundreds of entries spanning everything from printed banners, soft signage and vehicle wraps, to fabricated, illuminated and digital signage.

Entries for this year’s competition will open on Monday 9 February and close on 24 July.

To be eligible, projects must have been completed between 25 July 2024 and 24 July 2026. Judging will be conducted by an expert Judging Panel, which will be officially appointed this year.

While the full list of categories has yet to be finalised, a provisional list is available on the ASGA website to provide guidance, with president, Mick Harrold, saying it’s never too early for business owners to begin preparing their entries.

“Our organising committee is currently reviewing and revising the Award categories, but no matter what type of products your business produces, there will definitely be a category to suit,” he explained.

“If you’re interested in entering, you can start preparing immediately by identifying your best projects, gathering photos of the completed job, and pulling together all the technical specs and details, so that you’re ready to send it in in February.”

As well as the chance to benchmark your best work against the industry’s premier sign and graphics businesses, Harrold said entering the Awards is an opportunity to increase your brand and business profile with your customers and key industry connections, and to recognise and celebrate the contribution your team has made to the success of your business.

“In the past, entrants have also told us that assessing their work for the Awards provided a valuable opportunity to review and evaluate their business goals, standards and achievements, and became a great foundation for setting team goals and agreed performance standards for the business,” added Harrold.

“We can’t wait to see the work entered this year, and to celebrate at the Gala Awards Dinner, which will once again be a crowning celebration of our sector as industry professionals gather in Sydney from around the country for the 2026 Visual Impact Conference and Expo.”

Award winners will be announced at a presentation dinner, to be held at the Sydney Showground, Sydney Olympic Park, on Thursday 3 September.
