VISUAL IMPACT: SMARTECH
Smartech used Visual Impact to demonstrate its wide range of print, finish and rip solutions, and its nationwide service operation.
Smartech showed Epson and HP roll-to-roll print systems, and was also presenting on Agfa wide-format print systems, which it is now also supplying.
Brett Wark, NSW sales and national product manager, Sign& Display, said, “We like to ask a lot of questions and really get to know the customer’s type of work. We know the ins and outs of our machines, so we can recommend the ideal solution to them, because we can draw from a range of leading print solutions.”
Along with a range of print systems, Smartech supplies finishing equipment, and rips. Wark said, “Everything has strengths, in one it may be the gamut, in another it may be ability to hit a certain image, say flesh tones, exceptionally well, so we like to ask a lot of questions of customers, consult, and work that way, and create the optimum solution for their particular needs.
“We have application specialists where other people don't, so we have that in depth knowledge of the whole solution from the product to the running of the machines and how they work on different profiles and medias. Us salespeople are quite hands on as well, we are obsessed with the technology. And Smartech has our own service staff in every capital city.”
Among the presses on the stand was the new HP 630 W print and cut system. Wark said, “This is a rock-solid machine that is going to address a broad market. There's a lot of pluses in terms of the media that you can print on, with minimal waste.”
Speaking on the new deal with Agfa Wark said, “They're very well built machine, and they use a small amount of ink, which is a great cost saving as well as a differentiator. Agfa’s heritage in inks and chemistry is unmatched.”
