A "passionate supporter" of Women in Print, Karagiannis brings with her a "strong background across multiple verticals" in industry, with 21 years’ experience in print communications.

“Women in Print is a great platform for women in our industry to support each other, and I am excited to join the board, and to be able to consider projects that enhance and increase networking and connections in the community, and especially apply my passion, as Patron of Victoria,” said Karagiannis.

Susan Heaney, chair of Women in Print and Media Super, and managing director of Heaney’s Performers in Print, welcomed the announcement.

She said, “We are delighted to welcome Rita to the board as the Victorian Patron and look forward to working with her in 2022 as we continue to maintain the momentum for our community.”

The first board meeting for 2022 is due to take place in February, as Women in Print prepare to host its Breakfast Series in May.

Kellie Northwood, executive secretary, Women in Print, said, “It was a tough decision for the board, as we narrowed a strong field of candidates to a final two, who provided strong applications to not only how they would approach the current projects, but furthermore their vision for the future diversity of our industry and how to support all across our sector. Women in Print has a proud history which will continue, as we now build with our Patrons a strong future focus.”
