Print & Digital dumps live stream option

The fourth Print & Digital Convention in Dusseldorf has dropped its live stream option, reverting to an in-person event only, due to “insufficient demand” for the virtual version.

With print businesses around the world forced online for the past 18 months zoom fatigue is evident, and the re-emergence of in-person events may put the kybosh on the live streaming once the world opens up to travel.

Aussie and Kiwi printers have had to use live stream more than most, but with borders set to open before the end of the year, and quarantine in NSW now dumped, both international and interstate travel will resume.

The current Fespa Global in Amsterdam has live streaming, as does the Heidelberg Innovation Week taking place this week, and next week’s Horizon Smart Factory event from Japan.

The local print awards will be a combination of live stream and in-person, with NSW and WA state PICAs in-person, Victoria live streamed. The National Print Awards will be live streamed from an in-person event in Brisbane to the WA and NSW events, and to homes in Victoria and SA.

The Print & Digital Convention is a meeting place for “all the key decision-makers” in the print and media industry, brand owners, publishers, agencies and industry. The two-day congress has eight theme worlds, four daily parallel lecture series on all relevant aspects of corporate communication and print and digital technologies, with a total of 48 lectures and workshops.

It also has 60 exhibiting companies – the event area of over 2,000sqm is completely booked out with companies such as Kodak, Konica Minolta, HP, Oki, Landa, and Canon taking part.
