It will be published in printed in editions in March and September, and then become a quarterly issue from the following year. Are Media magazines are printed by IVE.

Nicky Briger, general manager for fashion and beauty at Are Media said, “Print is seeing a resurgence globally, especially in the luxury and fashion space, so we’re thrilled to be bringing back the much-loved magazine – something tangible to have, hold, read and leaf through.”

Elle was one of seven titles that former owner Bauer Media stopped printing right at the start of the Covid outbreak in 2020. Bauer went on to sell its ANZ publishing business to private equity group Mercury, for just ten per cent of the $530m it paid for the business a decade earlier. Mercury is also the biggest shareholder in Blue Star New Zealand.

Magazine print readership in general is resurging, with figures up for the past four quarters, with titles including Australian Women’s Weekly, Vogue Australia, Marie Claire, and Women’s Day all increasing in the year to June, according to Roy Morgan.
