Fuji Xerox Australia is launching the Versant 3100i Press/Versant 180i Press, digital colour printers which come with new features across both presses that the company says are more flexible, smarter, and simpler, ensuring optimised productivity for ANZ businesses looking to quickly build on their print capabilities.

The new digital colour printers are successors to the popular Versant 3100 Press/Versant 180 Press Production Series.

The Versant 3100i Press was designed to streamline high-volume print workloads and boost business productivity, while the new Versant 180i Press showcases high-performance flexible printing with enhanced scan and copy capabilities.

A new Air Suction Feeder has been introduced as an add-on capability to support broader media handling and increase wider print applications. This includes banner printing of up to 1.2 metres and automatic duplex printing of banner paper up to 330 x 864mm.

With this new feeder, the printers can handle a wide range of paper including thick and long paper, which enables stable transportation of various types of paper and improves productivity. Printers can now offer more diverse options for their customers as they can offer more printing types at higher volumes.

The feeder can handle heavyweight thick paper of up to 400 gsm. The new paper tray is also compatible with various paper sizes. Paper, which typically cause stress in paper feeding—such as paper containing a concentrated amounts of paper dust, uneven paper, cohesive coated paper and preprint paper for offset printing that uses powder— can now all be transported in a stable way, delivering more volume capacity and faster job processing.

Printing speeds have been improved by approximately 2.5 times for the Versant 3100i Press, while the Versant 180i Press is twice as fast as earlier models.

To further improve uptime the Full Width Array technology and Fuji Xerox SIQA (Simple Image Quality Adjustment) technology automatically adjusts skews and front to back registration up to banner size. Combined with other adjustment attributes the operations can be reduced to minimise the operator’s intervention, freeing up time best spent on increasing efficiency in one’s business and building customer relationships in an increasingly competitive landscape.

Bruce Murphy, head of graphic communications marketing, Fuji Xerox Australia, said: “We are excited to introduce our customers to this next generation of the Versant series, who we understand are always on the look-out for how new printing technology can benefit their business. The technology of the new Versant 3100i Press/Versant 180i Press enables such a wide variety of applications assisting our customers to build up the blocks of business opportunity.”

The new printers support a wide variety of paper sizes, from 98 x 148mm to 330 x 488mm. The Multi Sheet Inserter for Banner Print is equipped for all configurations and printing on long paper (330 x 660mm) is also supported. The printer can handle options such as one-sided long paper printing (330 x 1200mm) and Duplex Automatic Print of long paper (330 x 864mm), thus expanding its capability for new applications and business.

The Versant 3100i Press offers a wide variety of finishing options, including A3 cover sheet insertion, punch, staple, saddle staple, single fold, Z fold half sheet/tri-fold, crease, face trim, full bleed trim, and square fold.
