The reelfed Jet 560 HDX press prints at up to 150 metres a minute on reels up to 560mm wide. Peter Scott, managing director of Screen GP, said, “One of the key benefits is a new ink, which has the ability to print on offset coated stocks, so the kind of stocks that printers know and love. “You will get amazing vibrant colours and 1200dpi quality.”

The TruePress Jet 560 HDX is available from next month. A company called Art & Negative in the US was the early adopter, and Scott said there's a large number of machines already on back order.

Screen was also highlighting the TruePress L350UV label press at the show, which has proved successful in ANZ, Abel Labels in Tasmania is the latest company to install the press.

Scott said, “I think people can see the quality it produces. They recognise that, if you have an existing flexo press, your jobs will look beautiful. There are no problems with colour, no problems with quality. It prints on the same materials.

"They also recognise how reliable it is, screen engineering, screen engineering, and also how, how well it's supported, through our dealer Jet Technologies, and also from us here as the manufacturer."

Screen was also promoting CTP, with its four page, eight page all the way up to 48 page CTP for those customers. Scott said, “There are not so many inquiries for CTP these days, but it's still there, and we still sell a number of units every year, so we continue to develop CTP. Along with that is our workflow. Software is very important, the Equios solution provides a robust workflow for processing files. It provides a level of automation. We can drive our plate setters. We can drive our print on demand products.”

Scott also said that Screen is developing a cutsheet SRA3 inkjet print system, due to be released later this year. The inks are similar to the 560 HDX, which means it is capable of printing on offset coated stocks.

According to Scott, inkjet has a lot of advantages in terms of up time and maintenance costs and operating costs.
