To be among the overall best performers, a franchise needs to perform consistently well in nearly every category, outperforming rivals in the support offered, the lifestyle the franchisees are able to have, the passion the franchisor has and inspires for their industry, and the opportunities it grants.

In addition, it needs to satisfy its franchisees through a strong brand with a clear marketing message and provide marketing support at a franchise wide and localised level.

Kwik Kopy placed five overall, four in lifestyle, five in brand, six in marketing and seven in support. It currently has 93 stores across Australia. Snap also made it into the top ten, with lifestyle also featuring strongly, coming in at number six. It has 136 stores.

They are part of an estimated 500 franchise print stores in Australia, with Minuteman, MBE, Signarama and, Signwave among the others. A typical new franchise will require an investment of around $250,000.
