The AccurioPress C4070 has been installed at the company’s Silverwater manufacturing centre, where it will service the online print business and the two shopfronts, one in Parramatta, and one in Campsie.

Henry Tang, owner of the seven year old business said, “We have always had a great experience with Konica Minolta, with the print quality and with the service. When it became clear that we needed additional capacity the new C4070 was a straightforward choice. It is more productive, and with the long tray feed enables us to print banners in high quality.”

The new installation includes the IQ-501 option for automated colour control and registration accuracy. Tang said, “The IQ-501 means the registration is spot-on every time.”

The configuration at Printing Jet also includes the long sheet option for banner printing, and staple finisher for booklets. The long tray enables posters up to 1300mm to be printed, or up to 864mm print both sides.

Tang said, “The paper handling is excellent, it can easily accommodate stock up to 360gsm, and there are no issues with laminating the print.”

Tang started his business in 2014, and now has 10 staff, and plans to franchise out the system in the next couple of years. He said, “I saw an opportunity for a young person who understood how new technology and print can work together. I also understood the need to keep the printing technology right up to date.”

Printing Jet operates both online and in the local communities of Parramatta and Campsie, with another store planned soon for the Kellyville/Schofields area.

The new C4070 joins four other Konica Minolta presses at the Silverwater manufacturing hub, as well as wide format printers and finishing equipment.

Tang said that the past two months have been his busiest ever, he said, “Easter was busier than Christmas. Our customers are appreciating the quality and the service we provide. Everyone seems to be wanting to market their business, we are working flat out.”

The C4070 installed by Printing Jet is part of the C4080 series, aimed squarely at the commercial print market, including franchises and copy shops, and inplant printrooms. Konica Minolta says the C4080 series is designed for businesses looking to expand their production capabilities with advanced automation, and ease of use for various applications. It can be teamed up with the TU-510 Inline Trimmer Unit for trimming, creasing and perforation for a host of print products.

Tatjana Ferguson, product marketing manager at Konica Minolta says the highly versatile product has been well received, with 20 installations now going in.

The AccurioPress C4080 Series has intelligent automation, image quality, and print application diversity. It supersedes the C3080 Series, and also includes the AccurioPress C4070 installed at Printing Jet, and the AccurioPrint C4065, a lighter version of the C4080 that can bridge the gap between an office and production printer with the same image quality at a more affordable price point.

It is built on the same engine as the high volume AccurioPress C14000 Series launched last year. Konica Minolta says it is “versatile, delivers outstanding quality and performance, and is packed with an array of advanced automation features to boost productivity and expand capability".

The AccurioPress C4080 runs at 81 ppm (A4) colour while the AccurioPress C4070 runs at 71 ppm (A4) colour, and the AccurioPrint C4065 runs at 66 ppm (A4) colour. It produces 3600 (equivalent) x 2400 dpi resolution. The Line Stacker option supports long sheet bypass, and offers operators the advantage of offloading while the machine is still running.
