Roland DG Corporation has expanded its flagship Raster Image Processor (RIP) software, VersaWorks 7, with new add-ons available through Roland DG Connect.
VersaWorks 7 is designed to make professional-quality printing simple, reliable and efficient, and the new add-ons give users additional flexibility to adapt to diverse working styles and growing demand for on-demand printing.
For the first time, VersaWorks 7 users will have access to a paid plan, introducing advanced features such as remote printing, enhanced print job backup, and improved workflow management tools.
“It’s easy for Windows and macOS users to access these new add-ons via Roland DG Connect, and with our service team ready to assist, support is always close at hand,” said Greg Stone, marketing and product manager at Roland DG Australia.
“We can’t wait to see how customers use these new features to boost their productivity.”
The headline feature is VersaWorks Remote, which allows users to send jobs to VersaWorks from anywhere with an internet connection, making it possible to manage print production outside the office – whether working from home, on the road, or at another location.
Also part of the update is VersaWorks Backup, which automatically saves job settings and output data to the cloud, eliminating the need for manual reconfiguration and allowing users to quickly recover, and reprint urgent jobs whenever required.
For customers managing tight deadlines or unexpected reprints, this ensures smooth and reliable operation.
The third new feature, Extra Job Queue, expands the number of backlog folders in VersaWorks 7 from five to 20, enabling users to register multiple job conditions simultaneously – such as by media type, client, or application.
For busy print shops, this means less setup time, easier scheduling, and the ability to handle larger workloads with efficiency.
“Roland DG has always aimed to simplify complex workflows and make professional printing accessible to everyone,” said Ryugo Nimura, president of global sales and marketing at Roland DG.
“With these new add-ons, we are responding directly to the way our customers work today.
“The ability to print remotely, securely back up jobs, and manage larger volumes helps them stay productive, competitive, and ready to meet the growing demand for on-demand printing.”
In addition to the new paid features, VersaWorks 7 has also been updated to support up to eight registered printers, expanded device monitoring, and simplified generation of specialty colour plates.
The new VersaWorks 7 add-ons will be available worldwide from 22 October 2025 through Roland DG Connect.
