The new HP Indigo 15K HD Digital Press, supplied by Currie Group, will see Southern Impact continue its decade long relationship with HP Indigo. It will become the centrepiece of the company’s digital solution, running alongside an upgraded HP Indigo 7800.

The company will rationalise its digital fleet, with the company retiring an HP Indigo, which has printed 230 million impressions, along with two iGens and a NexPress, with the new HP Indigo 15K HD taking all the work. It will also print work that would previously have gone to offset.

Rod Dawson, managing director of Southern Impact Group said, “It is a natural progression, the new B2 sits between our SRA3 digital presses and A1 offset presses, and will reignite our commercial operation. We are seeing the market bounce back, the new HP Indigo will help drive the company forward.”

The new press will join Southern’s integrated digital workflow, and its centralised colour management system.

Dawson said, “It has been two or three years since our last capex, and investment in new technology is a key part of the Southern Impact strategy, to improve efficiencies, cut costs and offer more to the market. The HP Indigo 15K HD is a robust press, it offers flexibility, and uses proven technology.”

He also said, “It is a statement of strength and of our confidence in the market. We are increasingly offering full solutions to our customers in the retail space, with offset, digital, wide format, and fulfilment. The new HP Indigo 15K HD will enable us to progress with that proposition.”

HP Indigo regional director Arnon Goldman was on the Currie Group stand with Dawson and Heath Nankervis, he said, “It is not just the first HP Indigo 15K HD in Australia, it is the first in the southern hemisphere. Congratulations to Southern Impact. We look forward to continuing our long and excellent relationship as we see the company grow.”
