Sales agent Richard Rasmussen from Ascent Partners says, “It has a good spread and mix of loyal clients. It is profitable, but certainly the equipment it has is capable of producing far more.”

Excell is the main player in a wide area, with little in the way of competition. The owner, who is looking to retire, is looking for $735,000 for the business, which has sales of around $1.3m. It was estalished in 1992, with Mogridge taking over 23 years ago, in 1998.

Rasmussen said, “It’s really a business for a sea changer, someone from Melbourne, Sydney or Canberra perhaps, who wants a lifestyle change – and far cheaper houses. Someone who could also bring a small client base with them should do very well.”

Excell offers a wide range of traditional print products such as business stationery, brochures, catalogues, magazines, calendars and forms, and a variety of large format printing, wall art, canvas and giclee prints, and signage. It also has a custom apparel operation for t-shirts. The business also has inhouse graphic design and online print services.

Inhouse equipment includes B3 multicolour offset with CTP, prepress and binding, digital presses, wide format printers, label equipment, and direct to garment printers, all of it unencumbered.
