The awards are already expected to draw a crowd of hundreds, and now that enthusiasm is set to rise with the announcement of the popular and entertaining Thornton as host. All state PICA Gold winning jobs have been forwarded to the NPA judges to determine the national winners.

As well as live shows, Thornton’s credentials include Network Ten’s Hughesy We Have a Problem, the AFL quiz show The Beep Test on Fox Footy, and regular appearances as a co-host on The Project. He has also acted in Channel Nine’s House Husbands and ABC TV’s Upper Middle Bogan, and spent four years co-hosting Fox FM’s breakfast radio show alongside Fifi Box and Brendan Fevola.

Walter Kuhn, president of the PVCA, says securing Thornton as the evening’s master of ceremonies is a coup for the event.

“We are very much looking forward to gathering as an industry to celebrate the achievement of excellence in print, and recognising the people and businesses who are leading the way in our industry, and are absolutely delighted that Dave has agreed to MC the celebrations,” he says.

“The evenings will be a real celebration of our industry’s resilience and commitment over the past 12 months, and a great chance to get together with colleagues and friends from across the industry for a night of fine dining and fun.”

The National Print Awards Presentation Dinner will be held in Melbourne Room 1 at the MCEC on Thursday 30 September. To find out more or reserve your place, go to www.printingawards.com.au.
