ASGA TO RUN BULLYING CLAIMS WEBINAR

As businesses are faced with the rise of bullying claims and the psychological impact of bullying on staff in the workplace, Australian Sign & Graphics Association (Asga) is running a webinar on the subject at the end of the month.

The webinar, Managing Bullying and Psychological Injuries in the Workplace, is scheduled for Tuesday 29 November at 2pm AEST, and is being presented by Warwick Ryan of Hicksons Lawyers, and moderated by Vernon Kingman of Kingman Strategies.

It will examine the risks faced by businesses as a result of the proliferation of bullying claims and look at the strategies to minimise these risks.

According to Asga, psychological injuries now comprise about a quarter of all workers compensation claims and the lost days for psychological claims are generally three times that of an average physical injury.

Asga confirms that authorities around the country have psychological risk management codes and in many states there is a positive obligation upon employers to implement risk minimisation strategies in that area.

Equally as challenging is that almost every attempt to counsel an employee about their performance results in an employee leaving the workplace under a medical certificate, claiming stress, says Asga.

This webinar is free for ASGA members and $33 inc GST for non-members. Registration is available online here
