VISUAL CONNECTIONS HOSTS GOLF DAY
The inaugural Visual Connections Victorian Golf Day at Melbourne’s Sandhurst Golf Club served as a platform for industry networking, and to celebrate the contributions of outgoing CEO Peter Harper.
More than 50 people attended the golf event, with an additional 30 joining the celebration dinner, where Harper’s impact on the industry was acknowledged. The event also marked the first opportunity for attendees to meet Karren Challoner-Miles, the new executive general manager – Association.
Mark Canavan, board member at Visual Connections and representative of Graphic Art Mart, described Harper as having helped “write some of the most exciting and significant chapters in the story of the industry.” Sarah Moore, general manager – exhibitions and events at Visual Connections, also expressed the team’s gratitude for his leadership.
The golf tournament featured 18 holes played in the Ambrose format. The team from Exponet—Richard Stehn, Jason Wong, Steve Todorov, and Ulie Preciado—claimed first place, with their prize presented by Ian Parsonson, managing director of Platinum Sponsor Hexis.
Prizes for nearest the hole, longest drive, and the Survivor Ball competition were supported by Gold Sponsors Durst, Gel Events, Graphic Art Mart, Orafol Australia, and Spicers. Additional support came from novelty hole sponsors Böttcher, Get Rigged, Labels Plus Magazine, and Signarama, while Currie Group sponsored the drinks cart.
The celebrations for Harper will continue with a second dinner on 28 November at The Deckhouse in Woolwich, which will also include Visual Connections’ Annual general meeting.
