The countdown is on for the Visual Media Association’s first Bring Your Boss showcase, which takes place in Brisbane on Tuesday 3 February, and is delivered in partnership with Konica Minolta.

Bring Your Boss, which is part of the VMA’s emerging talent program, The Inkers, connects early-career professionals, employers, educators and policymakers to explore how the industry can support apprentices, trainees and new talent in navigating education-to-employment pathways and building sustainable careers.

As the peak industry body for Australia’s print, sign, packaging, publishing and visual communications sectors, VMA works closely with industry, education providers, training organisations and government to ensure a sustainable and capable workforce.

Australia’s print and paper supply chain employs more than 230,000 Australians, including a substantial regional workforce, and underpins the nation’s sovereign manufacturing capability.

“Recognising the critical role that employers, mentors and industry leaders play in empowering emerging professionals to build long-term careers, The Inkers program focuses on strengthening education-to-employment pathways and improving workforce retention and completion rates for apprentices and trainees,” explained Kellie Northwood, chief executive officer of the VMA.

VMA’s Bring Your Boss events are open to apprentices, cadets and anyone early in their career, as well as the managers, educators and policymakers who support them.

By getting everyone in the same room, the events spark new connections and ideas to improve training outcomes. Attendees can expect panel discussions, Q&A sessions and informal networking over refreshments.

Events will run in Brisbane, Sydney, Launceston, Melbourne, Ballarat, Perth and Adelaide between February and March. Click here for more details.
