Mel Ireland, federal president of the LIA, welcomed guests to the event held at The Wharf Hotel, just across the river from the Melbourne Exhibition Centre.

Confirming that the volunteer organisation is now in its 16th year, she went on to highlight that Heidelberg has supported the event for 50 years, which Ireland said is the longest sponsorship in this industry.

Congratulating all the graduates, and thanking Visual Connections for donating $10,000 for the Graduate Scholarship prize, Ireland then handed out Fellowship Awards to Robert Black, LIA president and Brett Maishman, Fujifilm's national sales manager, GCS Channel Sales.

The winner of the 2022 LIA Graduate of the Year award will be announced at the National Print Awards tonight.
