Star equipment in the auction includes a Xeikon digital label colour web press, a Simon VK six-colour CI solvent press, and Konica Minolta bizhub C71cf digital colour press.
Also up for auction is a Smag servo driven semi and full rotary die cutter, a Brotech label converting and finishing system, a Vorey label die cutter, along with slitter rewinders, finishing equipment and a full suite of tools, equipment and systems expected at a progressive printshop.
The auction is online and available here, on-site inspection day is Monday between 10am and 3pm at Unit-3/ 10 Short St, Brookvale NSW 2100, with the auction finishing at 7.30pm next Wednesday 26 April.
Foxcil ceased all production at the start of this month, bringing down the curtain on what was one of the country’s most innovative print businesses, after a ten-year pioneering run.
Owner and well-known industry identity Roger Kirwan will leave the print industry, after a long career, which began in New Zealand, with 20 years in senior management roles, including a stint as part of Geon.
Rival trade house Guru Labels has taken over the Foxcil customer list, with Foxcil general manager Carl Butchard moving to Guru to handle the customers, from its print facility at Lisarow on the NSW Central Coast.
Kirwan cites investment in low cost digital label presses by an increasing number of commercial and label print businesses as impacting on his trade, along with the cost of reinvestment in new equipment as the prime reasons for his decision to close the Brookvale-based business.
