ANZ PRINTERS ENJOY DRUPAFEST PARTY

Printers from Australia and New Zealand over in Dusseldorf took time away from the halls of the Messe Centre for the big Print21 ANZ drupafest Party, enjoying a convivial evening under the stars.

The Print21 ANZ drupafest Party was completely sold out, with some 260 ANZ printers gathering at the Frankenheim brewery pub to enjoy award-winning beer, top German food, and classic live pub music.

The night was one of the few during drupa that was completely rain-free, which, given that the party was held in the open air bier garten, proved a blessing.

Many of the major Aussie and Kiwi print businesses were among the crowd, who enjoyed the opportunity to share war stories with friends and rivals, and to discuss business opportunities back home.

Hosted as usual by Print21, the ANZ drupafest Party was supported by drupa itself, with drupa’s ANZ country manager Rob Laing officially welcoming printers to the expo, and by local print employers' associations Visual Media Association and PrintNZ.

The Party was sponsored by leading suppliers to the industry. Currie Group was Platinum Sponsor, Konica Minolta the Diamond Sponsor, with Gold Sponsors Ball & Doggett, eProductivity Software, Epson, Finlease, Fujifilm, Heidelberg, Kissel + Wolf, Ricoh, Screen, Xeikon and XMpie.

Wayne Robinson, editor of Print21 said, “The Print21 ANZ drupa parties are an institution, a place where the local industry can get together far from home, compare notes, share tall tales and drinks, and enjoy an evening of beer, music and fun away from the halls of the show.

“We were fortunate to secure the Frankenheim as the venue, its beer is one of the most highly regarded in all of Germany. It was so good to welcome Aussie and Kiwi printers to what was a wonderful night far from home, during the greatest show on earth.”
