Ball & Doggett says the new partnership is in response to the “growing demand for efficient, high-quality print solutions”. The company is targeting both screen printers and commercial printers with the Kornit solutions.

Kornit says its digital direct-to-garment print technology is helping create an on-shore print-on-demand market for garments, enabling print businesses to offer rapid turnaround and low volumes to the market.

Ball & Doggett will officially take over from Kissel + Wolf as the exclusive distributor of Kornit equipment on 8 June. Ball & Doggett will supply the machines, the inks, the parts, and the servicing. It has already taken on new service engineers in Brisbane, Queensland and Victoria, and has appointed a new applications manager.

For Kornit, the partnership now gives it access to the majority of print businesses in Australia, as Ball & Doggett is Australia’s largest supplier of printable materials, operating in the commercial, wide-format, labels and packaging markets.

Ball & Doggett says it has strategically aligned with Kornit to offer a comprehensive suite of direct-to-garment and roll-to-roll digital printing and fulfilment services. It says that by leveraging Kornit Digital's cutting-edge technology and Ball & Doggett's extensive distribution network and expertise, this partnership will empower businesses to streamline their printing operations, reduce turnaround times, and unlock new opportunities for growth.

Rob Brussolo, general manager for Sign Display & Digital at Ball & Doggett, said, "With a dedication to sustainability and innovation, Kornit Digital's direct-to-garment solutions are crafted to assist manufacturers and fulfillers in discovering the highest production demands of today's consumer-driven market. Ensuring that existing Kornit Digital users receive exceptional service throughout this transition remains our top priority."

Tomer Artzi, president and managing director, Kornit Digital Asia Pacific, said, "Today’s announcement is a significant milestone for us, and we are excited to join forces with industry leader Ball & Doggett – driving innovation and redefining the future of on-demand, digital textiles across the Australian market.

"By combining our unmatched expertise and extensive resources, our goal is to empower businesses of all sizes to thrive in the digital age, offering unparalleled flexibility, speed and quality in their on-demand printing operations."

Ball & Doggett aims to convert the nation's screen printing garment businesses over to Kornit digital technology, in much the same way that A3 offset printers of 20 years ago all moved to digital printing. It will also offer Kornit DTG to commercial print businesses, especially in packages with eProductivity Software web-to-print and ERP solutions.

"Ball & Doggett will enable screen printing businesses to offer a speed of service, with a low level of labour and reduced skills, none of which is possible with screen printing. For commercial print businesses looking to diversify, Kornit DTG offers a real growth opportunity," Brussolo concluded.
