G2 Systems has completed the installation of the first EcooGraphix computer-to-plate (CTP) system at BizPrint PNG, a locally-owned commercial printing and scanning company based in Port Moresby, reinforcing the availability of modern, affordable prepress technology for printers across the Asia-Pacific region.
G2 Systems is specialist supplier of printing, prepress, and finishing solutions serving customers across Australia, the Pacific, and Asia-Pacific.
The company provides equipment, consumables, and technical support for commercial and packaging printers, with a strong focus on practical technology solutions that it says “balances performance, reliability, and cost efficiency”.
The installation involved the replacement of an obsolete and failed CTP system with a new EcooGraphix T400 CTP, allowing BizPrint PNG to rapidly restore plate production.
Manufactured by Amsky, the EcooGraphix T400 features the latest thermal imaging head technology, dynamic autofocus, and a robust plate clamping system, which, according to the company, provides “consistent plate quality and dependable performance”.
By integrating the new CTP with BizPrint’s existing Xitron RIP, G2 Systems says it was able to deliver a highly economical upgrade without the need for extensive workflow changes or additional software investment.
“BizPrint chose G2 Systems as its CTP partner based on a trusted business relationship spanning more than 10 years, underpinned by consistent service delivery and technical support,” Bryan Wareing, executive general manager of BizPrint PNG, told Print21.
“With over 25 years’ experience in the print industry and a long history of servicing customers in PNG, G2 Systems demonstrated a deep understanding of BizPrint’s operational requirements.
“G2’s proven remote service and diagnostics capability was a decisive factor, ensuring reliable support, fast issue resolution, and minimal downtime compared with alternative suppliers.”
According to Wareing, the installation demonstrates that contemporary CTP solutions are now accessible at price points well suited to printers looking to modernise ageing equipment while maintaining tight capital controls.
“The installation and training went very smoothly, and we were back producing plates within two days. Reusing our existing RIP system made this a very practical and cost-effective solution for our operation,” Wareing explains.
“The number one requirement for the new system is to produce plates for the offset print division which includes, GTO’s, SM52 and SM74 presses. The number of jobs on these presses has increased as PNG grows and the number of plates required has in turn also increased, so a reliable, easy to use CTP was essential.
“The machine has been in operation from the day after it was un-crated and has not missed a beat. The operators enjoy the simplicity of operation, and the quality of the plate is noticeably better than the previous system.”
The successful installation highlights G2 Systems’ focus on delivering scalable and affordable prepress solutions that meet the operational needs of printers throughout Australia, the Pacific, and the wider APAC region.
“G2 Systems has supported BizPrint for many years, and during that time, we have provided equipment and technical assistance across all areas of the business,” Bernie Hockings, managing director of G2 Systems, told Print21.
“G2 Systems regularly visits PNG to service equipment and visit with clients, and the company continues to work closely with BizPrint on the evaluation of further equipment opportunities.”
BizPrint PNG operates as a key business unit under the Remington Group PNG and serves clients across many industries with end-to-end print and document solutions.
The company caters to a wide range of sectors including corporate, government, education, healthcare, and events, with traditional offset presses in A2 and A2 sizes, digital and wide format, as well as providing design services.
