Mimaki Australia, in partnership with Australian Graphic Servicing (AGS), recently hosted a two-day Open Day in Melbourne from 17-18 March, marking an important milestone in the newly formed collaboration.
The event served as a practical kick-off to the relationship, following the official appointment of AGS as a Mimaki dealer in November 2025.
As an Australian-owned business with a strong reputation in installations, maintenance and consumables, AGS brings deep technical expertise and long-standing customer relationships to the Mimaki network.
“AGS brings an exciting opportunity for Mimaki when considering their length of time and experience in the industry,” Kohei Kobayashi, MD at Mimaki Australia, tells Print21.
With strong registration numbers, the Open Day welcomed attendees from across promotions, merchandise, commercial print, and sign and graphics sectors.
Live demonstrations and hands-on sessions focused on direct-to-object (DTO) and UV printing, giving visitors valuable insight into new applications, production efficiencies and business opportunities.
“Applications inquiries were a mix of commercial printers and sign/graphics businesses looking to expand capabilities,” Kobayashi adds.
“Attendees sought new technologies to enhance workplace efficiencies in addition to finding the right solutions for their business need, and the printers that generated the most interest were the UJF series and the UCJV330
“We'll continue to keep in contact with attendees and particularly those that demonstrated strong interest in the products.”
More than just a showcase, the event created a collaborative environment for meaningful discussions and knowledge sharing. It also delivered early positive sales outcomes, highlighting the immediate impact of the Mimaki and AGS partnership.
