The UJV300DTF-75 is Mimaki's first purpose-built UV-DTF (UV curable direct-to-film) printer, which uses a decoration method whereby a design printed on a special film is transferred to the target material.

The method allows for easy decoration of materials with uneven or curved surfaces, which has previously been difficult to do with conventional UV printing.

“With years of industry experience, our ethos is to embrace change and continually focus on improving our products and services,” Sean Downs, director of Neon Packaging, told Print21.

“One of our major clients was experiencing print production delays using old technology to put branding on bottles.

“We approached many UV-DTF machine suppliers and compared their quality. This led us to settle on the Mimaki UJV300DTF-75 as it aligns with our goal in offering game-changing quality to our clients.”

The machine was installed in late August and has since increased Neon’s capacity and capability, with Downs specially crediting the machine’s reliability, allowing the company to run hundreds of metres of material with ease since its installation.

“We want to see our customers’ businesses grow and reach their potential by creating memorable brand experiences that generate brand loyalty,” explained Downs.

“This is why we source quality packaging and machinery that can be relied upon to deliver products safely, innovate to provide the best packaging solutions, and make branded packaging a delight to unbox.”

Claudio Zarantonello, senior marketing officer at Mimaki Australia, sees the first installation of UJV300DTF-75 in Australia to be a landmark moment for both companies.

“Along with being the first company in the country to invest in this advanced DTF print technology, we're confident that Neon Packaging will be able to expand its creative opportunities for their customers in the packaging and promotional products space,” Zarantonello tells Print21.

“For Mimaki, it's immensely rewarding to see this innovation embraced so enthusiastically, reinforcing our commitment to delivering solutions that empower businesses to achieve more.

“We are thrilled to see Neon Packaging lead the way in adopting new ways forward by way of Mimaki's technology and look forward to supporting their new possibilities and ongoing growth journey."
