Fespa Australia members and print industry professionals braved the driving rain in Sydney last night to gather in a convivial atmosphere at Sydney Rowing Club, networking with peers and colleagues and learning more about the upcoming Fespa Global event.
Despite the heavy weather stealing the harbour view at the venue, spirits did not seem to be in the least dampened if the animated conversations across the room were anything to go by.
For Fespa Australia, the networking event embodied what the association is all about: creating a collaborative environment where industry stakeholders in the print and signage sector can come together and exchange ideas, and address the challenges and opportunities facing the print and signage sector.
Welcoming guests, Fespa Australia president Nigel Davies, discussed the upcoming Fespa Global Print Expo, which will be hosted in Barcelona from 19-22 May and co-located with European Sign Expo, Personalisation Experience, WrapFest, Corrugated and Textile.
The event is set to welcome over 500 new and returning exhibitors from over 40 countries, bringing together the global speciality print community to experience innovation, insight and practical solutions across print, signage, personalisation, corrugated packaging, textile production and wrapping.
Davies announced that two 2025 Fespa Australia leaders, Sonya Beers from Ive Group and Karen Lawler from Cactus Imaging, will be attending the Barcelona show as Fespa Australia ambassadors, where they will represent Australia on an international platform, showcasing their expertise and vision for the industry.
Davies also paid tribute to Jane Docherty, who has taken the decision to retire from her role as manager Membership and Communications to pursue her career as an artist.
He acknowledged the significant contribution Docherty has made since joining the association in 2020, praising her exceptional work as an event organiser, especially during the challenging times of the Covid-19 pandemic. Davies thanked her warmly and wished her well on behalf of the association and the wider industry.
