The latest issue of Print21 has now hit desks around Australia and New Zealand, and as always, is packed with industry news and in-depth features, with this issue covering Packaging Print, Ink & Coating Advances, and Embellishment.
Hot off the press, Print21 May-June 2026 is now also available online for your convenience.
This edition reflects an industry in transition – not through incremental change, but through a broader shift in how print businesses are positioning themselves for the future.
The issue kicks off with our report on this year’s interpack (page 8), which saw digital printing technologies move decisively further into the mainstream packaging conversation – with exhibitors demonstrating how print is becoming more tightly integrated with sustainability, automation, connected workflows, and supply chain flexibility.
In Packaging Print, Ultra Labels & Flexpack scales up its packaging ambitions and investing heavily in digital and flexo technology (page 12); and Filton Packaging positions itself for higher-spec packaging work while maintaining the production reliability it has come to be known for (page 14).
For Ink & Coating Advances, Mimaki is pushing safer, sustainable UV ink technology with new formulations removing hazardous substances (page 15); while under Embellishment, Ricoh is helping drive the shift toward digital embellishment through technologies that combine specialty effects, faster turnaround and production flexibility (page 16).
Under Equipment Update, Currie Group expands its Canon portfolio with the Colorado XL-series (page 18); Roland DG’s ‘Make Your Mark’ brand refresh and TrueVis VG4 launch signals a broader shift toward integrated, customer-focused solutions (page 20); and Struddys Apparel becomes the first company globally to install Epson’s new SureColor F20060 dye sublimation printer (page 22).
For this issue’s Case Studies, we take a look at Konica Minolta and Snap Macquarie Park building a partnership centred on innovation, automation, and reliability (page 24); Printrade building a strong reputation as a trusted trade printer with support from Canon Production Printing (page 26); and Westman Group and Reacon transform commercial print with Australia’s first FUJIFILM Jet Press 1160CF (page 28).

Under Associations, the Visual Media Association’s Kellie Northwood unpacks the main takeaways from the recent national series of Industry Leaders Lunches (page 34); and PrintNZ’s Ruth Cobb says supply chain resilience is critical amid global uncertainty, and businesses must prioritise flexibility and planning (page 36).
And finally, for People in Print, Easy Signs takes on the National Sign & Graphics Awards; MCC completes financial restructuring (page 38); Troy Cavanagh appointed Fespa Australia VP; Heath Burgess returns to accelerate CPP’s ANZ growth (page 39); FBAU appoints new managing director; 30-year veteran Angelo Petrakos joins Melbourne-based Briner Signs (page 40); and Women in Print name Sacha Rattray and Calli McCool as Tasmania and Queensland state patrons respectively (page 41).
