Auckland-based PrintLounge has become the first printer in New Zealand to install the JetiQ digital embellishment system – a move the company expects will significantly reshape what it can offer its clients.

Developed by Jet Technologies, in partnership with Polly Automatics and Xaar, the JetiQ M370 is an all-in-one finishing and digital embellishment solution that brings together conventional finishing capability with the power of the Xaar Versatex Print Bar in a single system.

JetiQ covers a range of applications including slitting, rewinding, inspection, shrink sleeve processing, and digital finishing equipment. It opens the door for printers to do more, faster – from enhancing finishes to simplifying workflows.

For PrintLounge, flexibility was a key factor in the evaluation process, as it needed a system that could handle the demands of a busy commercial environment without compromising quality.

Commercially, the JetiQ M370 is expected to expand PrintLounge's reach, enabling more ambitious work for existing clients and a stronger proposition for new ones.

According to Steve Sheppard, managing director of PrintLounge, the move is a deliberate play for the company’s long-term growth.

“We needed something that could adapt to different job requirements without compromising quality. On top of that, the support and expertise behind the JetiQ gave us real confidence that we were making the right choice,” said Sheppard.

“We’re experiencing improvements across the board, including faster turnaround times, less downtime, and more consistent output. That obviously helps from a productivity standpoint, but it also strengthens what we can offer our customers. We can take on more work and deliver it to a higher standard.”

“Ultimately, we were looking for a solution that could give us greater control, consistency, and efficiency in our production. The JetiQ M-Series stood out because it offered a level of precision and reliability that we hadn’t seen in other systems. It wasn’t just about upgrading equipment, but it was also about future-proofing our business.”

PrintLounge is now able to print digital embellishments from a simple spot gloss varnish, through to 200-micron Braille and including a wide range of high-build varnishes on the M370. The company can also print onto a wide range of substrates, including uncoated wine stocks.

“PrintLounge is building a solid platform for long-term growth in the highly competitive label and packaging sector, with a clear focus on diversification, operational efficiency and delivering strong customer outcomes,” said Jack Malki, director of Jet Technologies.

“With the introduction of its JetiQ M370 system and a continued focus on refining internal processes, the business is helping shape print industry transformation in the region.”

For businesses weighing a similar investment, Sheppard’s advice is to think beyond the immediate and focus on what the right equipment makes possible over time.

“I’d say it’s about looking long-term. The right equipment solves today’s problems, and it sets you up for growth. For us, the JetiQ M370 is a long-term investment,” he added.

PrintLounge is an independent, family owned and operated printer with over 25 years’ experience delivering complete print solutions to corporate clients, small businesses, graphic designers, advertising agencies and marketing specialists.
