Ten apprentices from ten different New Zealand print operations will contest the BJ Ball Print Apprentice of the Year title, with the winner set to be revealed at this year’s Pride in Print event.

The Top 10 include:

·         Eligh Arthur (Gravure Packaging), Lower Hutt

·         Simon Berghan (Spectrum Print), Christchurch

·         Flynn Clinch (Opal Packaging NZ – Cartons), Christchurch

·         Joshua Faccioni (Graphic Packaging International New Zealand), Auckland

·         Toese Fauatea (Opal Packaging NZ – Cartons), Auckland

·         Tayla Jones (Logan Print), Gisborne

·         Lisa Maich (Print House), Hamilton

·         Jessia Moore (Imagine If Creative Studios), Morrinsville

·         Faamao (Paul) Muller (Wedderburn Scales), Auckland

·         Bradley Smith (Transcontinental NZ), Christchurch

Half of this year's candidates, five, work in packaging operations, including some of the biggest in the country. Three work for commercial printers, one at a graphic design and digital print operation, and one in label printing.

The 2024 BJ Ball Print Apprentice of the Year will be presented on stage at the Pride In Print Awards, being hosted at Auckland’s The Cordis Hotel on Friday 4 July. The award is named 2024 as that is the year the candidates finished their apprenticeships.
