Visionary, an Australian company focused on sustainable signage innovation, has launched a recycling initiative designed to divert signage waste from landfill and repurpose it into circular building materials.

Through the Visionary Green program, the company is encouraging businesses to switch from traditional PVC self-adhesive signage to its PVC-free alternatives, while also providing a collection and recycling pathway for used signage.
The core innovation of the program is GBoard, a multi-use engineered panel developed in partnership with saveBOARD. Manufactured from post-consumer signage waste combined with recycled packaging and plastics, GBoard offers a strong, low-carbon alternative to plywood and demonstrates a circular end-of-life solution for signage.
“Until now, signage waste has almost always gone to landfill. With Visionary Green and GBoard, we’re proving that every sign can have a second life,” said Tom Matthews, managing director of Visionary.
“The program was created to provide a practical, industry-wide solution. GBoard demonstrates what’s possible when signage waste is diverted from landfill and given a new purpose.”
Paul Charteris, CEO of saveBOARD, said the collaboration shows the potential for industry partnerships to deliver meaningful change.
“saveBOARD’s mission is to transform waste into high-performance building products,” Charteris continued.
“Working with Visionary and the Visionary Green program to create GBoard allows us to extend this mission into the signage industry – a sector that has long needed a circular solution.”
Every panel of GBoard diverts approximately 25kg of signage and post-consumer packaging waste from landfill, reduces carbon emissions, and creates a locally made, infinitely recyclable building material.
