Roland DG has introduced two new printers to its VersaSTUDIO series - the BN2-30 and the BD-12 UV, which it says is compact, easy-to-use and affordable.
Two new printers in VersaStudio series: BN2-30 and the BD-12 UV

The BN2-30 eco-solvent integrated printer/cutter with a maximum material width of 736mm, and the BD-12 UV direct-to-object printer for items up to A4 size, both feature what Roland DG says is vibrant, detailed printing, and increased productivity.

Both printers are now available in Australia.

“Since our founding in 1981, we have been encouraging people of diverse interests to take on new opportunities with our compact and easy-to-use digital devices,” said Ryugo Nimura, president of global sales and marketing at Roland DG.

“With the addition of these two new models to the VersaStudio series, we are further strengthening our product lineup.”

According to the company, the BN2-30 offers “outstanding print quality plus precision contour cutting, for the creation of graphics, photos, and text in any desired shape”.

With a maximum printing width of 736mm, the printer is compact enough to be operated in a limited space, yet combines “excellent quality and productivity to quickly produce a wide variety of items – from original t-shirt graphic transfers, stickers and labels to posters and shaped displays”.

The BD-12 UV flatbed printer is capable of high-definition direct printing on a variety of objects and materials. It supports items up to A4 size and 102mm in height. The machine can also print on cylindrical objects such as bottles and lipsticks, using the optional rotary axis.

The EUV5 ink is compatible with numerous materials, from soft goods like fabric and leather, to hard goods like wood and plastics. Glass and metal can also be printed on by using the primer ink. Roland DG says a clear ink option produces premium gloss or matte finishes and realistic textures including 3D embossed effects.

The company said, “This versatile printer makes it easy to produce high-value customised items like smartphone cases, giftware, sports memorabilia, fashion accessories and cosmetic products with stunning colour and fine details”.

Roland DG said both the BN2-30 and BD-12 are equipped with print heads that produce "high-definition" output and offer multiple print modes "ideal for different applications", which the company said simplifies the process of achieving professional print results.

With only a power button on the printer, all other functions are performed with the included Utility software through what Roland DG says are easy-to-understand icons and intuitive, quick access to menu items.

The printers come standard with FlexiDesigner VersaStudio Edition software, which Roland DG says can be used for everything from design creation to printing, as well as VersaWorks 7, the latest output software with support for both Windows and macOS.

Roland DG Connect, a comprehensive connected platform that provides tools such as visualisation of operating status and easy profit calculation, is also available. It includes proactive support to help prevent errors and contributes to an efficient and profitable business.

According to the company, with a complete range of productivity features and software included, the BN2-30 and BD-12 are priced to be affordable for first-time users. A comprehensive manufacturer's warranty and optional maintenance contract are also provided.
