RollsPack Group, the Melbourne-based flexible packaging specialist, has opened a manufacturing facility in Huai’an, China, marking a strategic expansion of its footprint in the Asia Pacific region.

The company says the new site, Rolls Technology, is “more than just a production plant”. It says it represents a “bold investment” in the group’s capacity to deliver “faster, smarter, and more sustainable” flexible packaging solutions across key industries including food, e-commerce, and pharmaceuticals.

Spanning a vast 53-hectare site, Rolls Technology features an 18,400-square-metre production plant equipped with cutting-edge cleanroom environments and advanced Bobst high-speed presses and laminators. Designed with performance, hygiene and efficiency at its core, the facility adheres to the highest international standards, according to the company.

“This is a significant step for RollsPack Group as we continue to expand across the Asia Pacific,” said Phillip Rolls, founder and managing director. “The launch of Rolls Technology reflects our long-term vision to be a leading, resilient packaging partner for our clients in Australia, New Zealand, China and beyond.”

The China-based facility is already fully operational. It is built, the company says, to meet growing demand for reliable, high-quality flexible packaging delivered with quicker turnaround and tighter quality control. The addition of regional capacity also enables RollsPack to offer shorter lead times and enhanced supply chain stability.

The company says the new site is designed with sustainability front of mind. From energy-efficient operations to responsible manufacturing practices, Rolls Technology aligns with RollsPack’s broader environmental goals and commitment to sustainable packaging transformation.

“Expansion doesn’t have to come at the planet’s expense,” said Rolls. “We’ve remained laser-focused on minimising environmental impact while maximising value for our customers.”

Collaboration across borders

One of the most exciting aspects of the new facility, according to Rolls, is the synergy between the Australian and Chinese teams. Close collaboration between both sites ensures a “seamless flow of expertise, innovation, and operational excellence”, which gives clients “confidence that every product meets the RollsPack standard”.

“By working together across borders, we’re helping our customers access what they need, faster and more efficiently,” said Rolls. “This facility is not just about production. It’s about creating a platform for global collaboration and continuous improvement.”

Speaking at the launch, Rolls described Rolls Technology as “a strong and dynamic partnership between Australia and China – a relationship built on mutual respect, shared goals, and economic collaboration.”

“This partnership drives innovation, creates jobs, and strengthens ties between our nations. As we navigate challenges and embrace change, let us continue to share knowledge and build a sustainable future. The best is yet to come.”

Established in 1986, RollsPack has built a reputation for innovation in tamper-evident and sustainable packaging solutions. Its headquarters and primary manufacturing facility remain in Braeside, Melbourne, where it produces high-quality printed plastic packaging with short turnaround times.

With the launch of Rolls Technology, the company opens a new chapter – one defined by growth, resilience, and a deep commitment to customer success.

“At RollsPack, we don’t just make packaging – we make possibilities,” said Rolls.
