The Australian Sign and Graphics Association (ASGA) had a great turnout for its NSW Sign and Print Golf Day, on what was decribed as a “cracking day in Sydney, perfect for a round of golf at the beautiful Ryde-Parramatta Golf Club”.
Over 60 golfers teed off early for 18 holes of golf, played in the Ambrose style, in which team members take turns, each hitting the ball from where the previous player’s ball landed – a method that prioritises teamwork and fun.
Damian Nielsen, member and events manager for ASGA, said these events are a great chance for players to enjoy a round on a top-class course, regardless of skill level, while taking the opportunity to network with industry peers.
“Last Thursday really had it all. It was an absolutely stunning Sydney winter day, perfect for a round on this world-class course, and the turnout was fantastic, with players from suppliers and industry businesses all embracing the opportunities an event like this provides,” Nielsen said.
“All the teams had enormous fun, with plenty of friendly competition for the array of prizes, particularly the hotly-contested Survival Ball, which brings out the best, and worst, of competitive spirit.”
This year, Team Roland topped the competition, closely followed by Team Canon.
After the game, players retired to the newly-renovated Club Rooms for drinks, a buffet lunch, and the presentation of prizes.
“Above all, this is a day which prioritises fun and camaraderie, and it’s always fantastic to see new connections being made, old friendships being renewed, and so many industry professionals keen to build on the relationships, which are so important to the success and enjoyment of our working lives,” Nielsen added.
The final events in the 2025 ASGA Sign and Print Golf Series will be at the Brookwater Golf Course and Country Club in Brisbane on Thursday 21 August; and the recently-confirmed Melbourne event, which is locked in for Thursday 20 November at the Heidelberg Golf Club in Lower Plenty.
The 2025 ASGA Sign and Print Golf Series is made possible by the generous support of industry-leading suppliers Graphic Art Mart, Bentleigh Group, Mulford, ORAFOL, Signarama, SMIB, Spicers and Bounce LED/LetterTech. They were joined in Sydney by local sponsors Ball & Doggett, Bentleigh Group, Easy Signs and Roland DG.
