Australian print and automation technology manufacturer Trimatt Systems is accelerating its momentum in the digital packaging space with a move to its new site in Boronia, Victoria, and a wave of product innovation tailored to meet evolving market demand.

Trimatt says the relocation triples its floorspace and significantly boosts its production, research and development capacity.

Trimatt managing director Matt Johnson said the new facility marks a key milestone for the business. “Our new factory has provided greater space and efficiency for the business and staff,” Johnson said. “We are always making new products. Some exciting new products are coming too – digital printing is Trimatt. Since 1985, we’ve had a long history in this space.”

That commitment to innovation was on display at CeMAT Australia, where Trimatt drew strong interest from cardboard packaging converters, 3PL operators, clothing retailers, and general manufacturers seeking to improve operational efficiency and reduce warehousing costs.

Co-exhibiting with local partner Graph-Pak, the Trimatt team demonstrated its ColourStar AQ V digital print and labelling system in action, printing directly onto corrugated boxes made using the BoxWay system live on the show floor.

The demonstration highlighted how the ColourStar AQ V eliminates the need for pre-printed box inventory by enabling fast, full-colour, on-demand print runs applied directly to packaging, reducing waste and increasing flexibility for just-in-time operations.

Building on this success, Trimatt has announced its next-generation system, the Trimatt ColourStar AQ, currently in production. The upgraded model will support full-bleed, edge-to-edge printing – a significant leap forward for brand owners seeking to elevate the quality and impact of their corrugated packaging.

With demand growing for digital solutions that streamline packaging production and reduce environmental and logistical burdens, Trimatt’s expansion and innovation roadmap position it as a serious contender in the evolving packaging print landscape.
