Owner Wayne Rubin described the new Horizon BQ-280 as the ‘missing link’ in the Belmore based business. It will be used to case-bind coffee table books and family albums and will also enable Twin Loop to offer a quicker PUR service as it will work in tandem with the company’s existing Horizon BQ-480 PUR and EVA binder.

Twin Loop is launching a $14.95 case binding promotion to go with the new BQ-280. Owner Rubin said, “We aim to enter new markets with the Horizon BQ-280. It allows us to case bind and PUR perfect bind books, up to 375x308mm.

“We will also use it to PUR bind our regular work, meaning we can get that work out of the door quicker, as there will be no delays for customers especially during peak periods. In addition, by having the new perfect binder, we will always have at least one binder available, even when the other is being cleaned or maintained.”

The new BQ-280 joins the Horizon BQ-480 that was installed five years ago by Currie Group. Rubin said, “We have had a positive experience with the BQ-480, it works well for us and produces quality work. In addition, we have an excellent relationship with Currie Group. So, the choice of an additional binder was straightforward, and we appreciate the commonality between the two binders, it makes work more straightforward for our staff.

“The Horizon binders enable us to offer a product that is highly specified, and that is difficult to achieve. The combination of the technology and our skillsets give us a product that is increasingly demanded by customers who want their products to stand out and to say quality.”

“We are proud to have a long-standing partnership with Wayne at Twin Loop. The addition of the BQ-280 with its variable thickness production and extended spine length of up to 395mm adds a new dimension to flexibility and productivity, especially with the trend towards short runs and custom products” says John Richmond, NSW/ACT Consumables & Traditional Machinery Account Manager for Currie Group.

Twin Loop moved into its current Belmore location five years ago, immediately before the onset of Covid. Rubin said, “That was a testing period, but we are now expanding again, and with the installation of high-quality technology from Horizon we can go to market confident in our ability to deliver a quality product.
