This Christmas, VistaPrint is partnering with Save-A-Dog Scheme (SADS), a Melbourne-based no-kill rescue organisation, and using print to sprinkle a little festive magic and shine a light on the pets still waiting for their forever home.
According to the latest statistics from PetRescue.com.au, more than 64,000 rescue pets were adopted across Australia last year, yet adoption challenges remain, and one in three rescue pets wait more than six months to over a year to find a home.
The statistics showed that adoption challenges were most prevalent amongst older dogs and those with behavioural issues.
As part of the initiative, shelter dogs received personalised gift bundles filled with blankets, bowls, beds, engraved ID tags, and a printed 'message of love' just for them.
“Some of these dogs have been with us for a very long time. The longer some dogs stay in care, the harder it can be for them to find a home,” said Thea Agius, manager of SADS.
“Initiatives like this help people picture that pet as part of their family when they see a name printed on a bowl or blanket. That moment of connection can make all the difference.”

This season, Australians are being urged to give the greatest gift of all, a home. Even if adoption is not possible, fostering, volunteering or donating can help change the story for a pet still waiting. Because every pet deserves a Christmas.
