WOMEN IN PRINT LAUNCHES NEW INITIATIVE
Women in Print has launched a major initiative aimed at supporting women and non-binary professionals at all stages of their print careers.
The Executive Leadership Program is to welcome its first intake in Melbourne in August. “The programme speaks to the organisation’s mission to elevate, connect, and support women in the print industry – whether they’re starting out on the production floor or stepping up into leadership roles at the highest levels,” said Stephanie Gaddin, chair of Women in Print.
“If we’re serious about equity in our industry, we need to be elevating from both ends.
“That means equipping our new operators, and apprentices with opportunities for certification and skills development, while also investing in our senior leaders so they’re not stepping into the top job without the tools to thrive. This is the work that shifts culture.”
The Executive Leadership Program, which will be delivered in partnership with Jo Wise Leadership, will commence with its first intake in Melbourne on 11-12 August.
The two-day, in-person experience has been designed exclusively for team leaders, middle managers and small business owners. The Executive Leadership Program is a paid skills development program aimed at middle to senior-level leadership or business owners.
The programme bookings will open on the same day as the information session. Because it's paid, there is no application as such; it's a first-in-best-dressed situation for the 20 places. The cost will be available at the information session, because Women ion Print is currently finalising venue and catering costs. Additionally, at the information session, details of the member discount available to Women in Print with a paid membership will be released.
Those interested in the programme should register to attend an online Information Session at 1–1:30pm next Wednesday, 25 June, where you can meet Jo Wise, discuss training options with Gaddin and go through the programme in more detail, with the opportunity to ask any questions. The programme commences with a focus on self-awareness, values-based leadership, and communications strategies for handling tough conversations. On Day Two, the group will look at team empowerment, driving change, and building resilience through practical, actionable leadership strategies.
The event will also include a private leadership dinner on 11 August, with each attendee and a plus one of their choice invited to meet with Women in Print board members and ally sponsors.
With a limit of just 20 delegates, and delivered in an interactive style with hands-on exercises and real-world case studies, the programme is designed to ensure participants walk away with a personalised plan that enables them to apply their new leadership skills to their professional and personal lives.
Jo Wise, executive coach and director of Jo Wise Leadership, said her leadership programmes are for women who are ready to lead with purpose, presence and power.
“This is real-world, actionable leadership – designed to cut through the noise, grow influence, and help women lead with strength and clarity,” Wise said.
“We’ve created a space where women challenge outdated norms, back themselves fully, and lead in ways that are bold, grounded, and sustainable – for themselves and the businesses they drive forward.”
"Leadership isn’t just about titles, and it’s not about being ‘the expert’, it’s about impact, clarity, and courage,” Gaddin added.
“This programme is one I wish I’d had access to earlier in my career, and I’m thrilled we can now offer it through Women in Print.”
