The company says its business mail volumes are increasing strongly, on the back of the security and trust benefits that printed mail provides.

Coinciding with 40 years of operations in Australia, the company has just installed an HP T250 Inkjet Web Printer, which runs at 150 metres a minute. Zipform has also installed a second printer to provide internal business continuity and increased capacity if required.

Along with turbocharging its print capacity, Zipform Digital has also invested in an additional Epic mail inserter. Zipform currently inserts around 2.5 million envelopes a month.

The new production equipment is set to be operational by the end of this month. The company says that this investment will not only increase current production capacity by more than half, but also reduces operational risk, with positive improvements seen by clients straight away.

Richard Vaughan, CEO Zipform Digital, said an investment of this scale was a testament to the continued growth that the company has experienced over the past ten years.

He said, “The reality is that our business mail volumes continue to grow year on year, and across our client base pre-sort mail volumes have also increased, bucking the reported trend.

“Zipform Digital is a business that has always been future-focused, and with the volumes experienced, we firmly believe that print and mail operations have a solid future. It made a compelling case for this considerable investment in not only equipment, but software and our production facilities.

“The addition of this new equipment plus further investment in upgrading the production facility in Canning Vale, WA, we are confident that the support provided to our clients and the innovative solutions offered will remain one of the best in Australia.”

Supplied by industry leading US company BlueCrest, which has an ANZ operation, the HP T250 Inkjet Web Printer has been installed and is nearly operational within a custom designed production room.

Vaughan said, “Our Epic mailing inserter can insert 20,000 DLX envelopes per hour, improving overall productivity and efficiency. With two of these machines in total (plus others), the production capability at Zipform Digital has more than doubled, feasibly providing clients with the fastest mail packs to market in Australia.

“New bespoke software also delivers us the ability to automatically generate any remakes, track every single page through our production process to provide an audit trail, and get real-time analytics from our production floor.

Vaughan sums up the decision of Zipform Digital to invest a substantial amount in this economic environment, he said, “The news is positive for business customers – mail is still the most secure and trusted delivery channel for Australians, and the research just proves it. Volumes are increasing for us, and the level of investment Zipform Digital has made underlines our confidence not only in our clients, but the print production industry and we look forward to bringing these innovative solutions to market from the end of March.”
