Some 750 printers around Australia took part in the first live-streamed Print2Parliament event, which moved online from its normal face-to-face event in Canberra due to Covid restrictions.

Members of Parliament were engaged in a fireside chat about the top issues facing the industry. Communications minister Paul Fletcher, shadow treasurer Jim Chalmers and Aleks Lajovic, managing director of Impact International, spoke about reliable and affordable energy.

PVCA then engaged all the members of Parliament in a conversation about print apprentices and training, followed by government procurement of print. There was a discussion about Australia Post and it was clear that that conversation needs to continue.

The event concluded with PVCA event manager Jacobena Mills once again displaying the gold winners of the 37th National Print Awards.

Mills said, “Viewers were thoroughly engaged in the comments section, and proved that industry members know what’s best for their industry. The conversation with government will continue, and PVCA will help to lead that.”
