At Labelexpo Europe 2025, Bobst launched the Flexjet module as a new option available for its Digital Master 340 and 510 platforms, expanding application offerings and boosting productivity for label converters.
Seamlessly integrated into the Digital Master series, Flexjet delivers what Bobst calls an industry-first “Pure Digital Multilayer” solution. Multiple digital print units working inline enable single-pass production of complex jobs such as multilayer, glue-side and back-side printing.
“With Bobst Flexjet, converters can harness the full power of digital printing – shorter runs, faster turnaround, SKU variation and versioning – while simplifying traditional multistep workflows,” said Patrick Graber, marketing director, PL Labels at Bobst. “The inline, all-digital approach dramatically reduces setup time, waste and process steps, minimising operational complexity and accelerating time-to-market for brand owners.”
Bobst sees rising demand for multilayer applications, driven by sustainability goals and regulatory requirements, including product information, nutritional data and warnings in multiple languages. Multilayer formats are also being used to add promotional content and interactive features.
The company already offers innovative multilayer production through inline flexo and all-in-one machines. Flexjet extends this capability into a fully digital workflow, pushing inkjet beyond traditional limits.
Currently configured with a single black printbar, Flexjet is powered by Bobst Inkjet Technology at 1200 x 1200 dpi, delivered at full process speed with Fujifilm Dimatix Samba printheads. It allows converters to print independently on the front, back, liner or adhesive surfaces, all inline in a single pass.
According to Bobst, Flexjet sets a new benchmark for application flexibility, enabling converters to expand offerings, optimise production, and cut waste – helping brands respond to evolving regulations while staying competitive at lower cost.
