Xeikon is entering the Asia-Pacific label market with a new digital press, Ecolyne, which is delivered through a subscription-based on-demand service and allows label converters to access production capacity, rather than making a traditional equipment purchase.
The company said that due to many converters in today’s label printing landscape facing the same barrier of high upfront investment for buying a new press, the new service will help converters scale production when needed.
“The addition of Ecolyne to the current Xeikon Dry Toner fleet allows the company to offer the full suite of platforms for all customer,” Trevor Crowley, sales general manager ANZ at Flint Group, who owns Xeikon.
“Now, with Ecolyne, Xeikon simplifies things for converters looking to either start their digital journey, or those looking to upscale from their current platform, and to do this with a truly industrial platform.”
With a capacity-first approach, the company said that focus shifts from machine ownership to printing performance, which it said is precisely what many emerging label printers are looking for.
The company added that beyond the commercial benefits, this service lets converters stay current with technology trends and keep their digital label production line equipped with the latest capabilities.
“In many parts of Asia, the label-printing scene is changing fast,” said Walter Benz, president of Xeikon.
“Small to mid-sized converters also see increasing demand for shorter runs and faster turnaround. They need access to digital label-printing capacity now. That’s why we bring Ecolyne to Asia first, as we see a strong need here for simple, reliable digital production without the burden of ownership.”
The new machine, Ecolyne, launches as a fully managed digital label press solution, with subscription-based capacity.
Designed for high-quality label production, the machine boasts a 330mm web width, 25m/min print speed, and 1200 dpi resolution with the ability to run substrates from coated or uncoated paper to PP (white or clear), PET and metallised film.
The Ecolyne press is available in both a 4-colour (CMYK) and 5-colour (CMYK+white) configuration.
Xeikon will handle installation, servicing, and uptime, giving converters instant access to digital capacity backed by global expertise.
The machine will make its first public appearance at Labelexpo Asia, which takes place from 2-5 December at the Shanghai New International Expo Centre.
