Future leaders have nearly an extra three weeks to get in their applications for GAMAA's annual overseas internship grant. Worth a cool $15K this once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to study anywhere in the world is still up for grabs as GAMAA push back the cut-off, giving hopefuls until March 31 to polish up their props.
For the third year, since its inception in 2012, the GAMAA internship grant gives the successful applicant the opportunity to travel internationally for work and study in a wide range of disciplines, from print, graphic design and marketing all the way through to grappling with new media. According to Karen Goldsmith, GAMAA executive director, the grant offers first-hand access to knowledge-bases from across theplanet, tapping into the very latest trends and industry best practice.

"It is the gathering of knowledge from multiple sources that will fuel the sustainability of our industry and GAMAA is pleased to provide this unique opportunity," said Goldsmith.
Backing up the association's ongoing commitment to education, the winner will also be called upon to generate a research paper targeted at growing the Australian market. The 2013 winner, Arin Tahmasian, account executive from Upstream Print Solutions, was able to use the Grant for a 24-day tour of the US and UK hitting key sites and events such as SMB Nation in Las Vegas, DMA in Chicago and Cross-Media in London. Tahmasian praises the experience and the opportunities it gave to learn from the world’s leading industry experts.
“It was an amazing experience to meet with my peers… and discuss the impact technology has on our industry, and how both print and digital can be used in conjunction to increase the effectiveness of customer communication,” said Tahmasian.
The original deadline of March 14 has now been extended to the end of the month, with submissions closing on March 31. Those are keen to apply from the Grant are encouraged to contact Karen Goldsmith on (02) 9869 0010 to discuss their proposal.
