In a $2 million-plus sales spike in the run up to PacPrint, Screen GP Australia and co-exhibitor Jet Technologies have sold two Truepress Jet L350UV inkjet label presses and a PlateRite FX870 flexographic CtP platesetter.
“To say I am delighted is an understatement,” says Screen MD Peter Scott. “Both L350UV digital label presses are now installed and running beautifully, one at Sticky Labels, a great Braeside, Vic family company, and the other also in Victoria that we will reveal at PacPrint. The PlateRite FX870 customer prefers not to be named.”
Screen’s wide format dealer Graphic Art Mart also installed a Truepress Jet W3200UV HS 3.2 metre flatbed machine at Dandenong sign and display printer Mezographic.
“We’ve also experienced a spike in CtP sales through our dealers, with an 8-up PlateRite PT-R8600NS going in at Warriewood, NSW printer Major Graphics and several others via our resellers Fujifilm and WRH,” says Scott. “Our new mini label press, the L250AQ, has attracted a lot of enquiries from AusPack and we're expecting to announce sales at PacPrint.”
To build on the second-quarter success, Screen will introduce special pricing on the L350UV and L250AQ label presses at PacPrint and also on the fast flatbed UV W3200. All three devices will be demonstrated on the Screen/Jet Technologies stand [D67].
Celebrating its 30th year as a direct Australian operation, Screen will also welcome three executives from its Kyoto, Japan headquarters. “It’s great to have such HQ support and we look forward to welcoming regional sales manager Mr Okitsu, global label & packaging business director Mr Tanaka and Screen GP sales division VP Mr Hirose,” says Scott. “As such, I will have direct head office people present to authorise any special deals during the show!”
Screen will have well over $1.5 million of equipment on the floor, plus a PlateRite CtP device on the Fujifilm stand [E10]. New Cloudflow and PakZ label and packaging PDF software from Hybrid Solutions will also be demonstrated.
“PackZ is so good one of our L350UV customers ordered it straight away to drive the new label press,” says Scott. “I’ve never been so positive about going into a trade show. We’ve made great sales in the lead-up and we have plenty of interest in our products from people who say they will see us there. The budget wasn’t too shabby for small business and printing in general and we have a great stand partner in Jet Technologies, who make the best coffee at any show. The planets have lined-up for us for sure.”
