Active Display Group and Fujifilm have held an open house to celebrate the installation of the region's first two Inca Onset X series UV flatbed printers at ADG's site in Melbourne.
The Inca Onset X-1 and X-3 were displayed to Fujifilm and ADG customers on Wednesday night, and Ashley Playford, national sales manager for graphic systems at Fujifilm, was pleased with the results. "The machines were well-received both from a print buyer and end user perspective, and a print production perspective," he said. "We got a lot of interest in both the short and medium term in these devices. We believe that the print quality of both are exceptional, and people can produce quality output at the high speeds that we showcased, 180 beds per hour, day in and day out."
Tyler Yanase, CEO Fujifilm, attended the event alongside David Burton, commercial director of Fujifilm Specialty Ink Systems, and John Mills, CEO of Inca. "Those two guys [Burton and Mills] are the key people in Inca Onset," said Playford. "We manufacture the print heads and the ink, and Inca integrates the print heads into the chassis. It’s a very close partnership between Inca and Fujifilm."
Stuart Gittus, general manager of operations at ADG, hosted the event, and said the Onset machines would allow Active to become more competitive in a challenging market. “Fujifilm has been very proactive and lateral working with us to provide a solution to suit all our needs. Also, the technical information has been invaluable to the decision. It has been a pleasure working with Fujifilm and Inca," he said.
