Adgraphix picks up first HP Scitex for NZ

Scott Shore, director of Adgraphix, says the new machine gives the company the opportunity to expand into new markets and offer local customers something that other Christchurch printing firms cannot.

“There were several reasons why we chose to invest in the HP Scitex printer,” says Shore.

“Primarily, we wanted a machine with a stationary bed, but we were extremely impressed with the ink adhesion of the printed samples. We were reassured by the fact that the HP Scitex FB6300 uses proven technology and is an established machine.”

The purchase of the HP Scitex printer has opened up a range of new opportunities for Adgraphix with it now in a position to cater both for high-end, one-off quality jobs and high volume, fast turnaround projects. The company also hopes to use it to tap into trends in the local market.

“In New Zealand we are currently seeing an increase of short-life display and POS materials. Many companies run promotional campaigns that require regular rotations in display images and messages in order to keep shops looking and feeling fresh,” says Shore.

The HP Scitex FB6300 is capable of performing work on a wide range of substrates and applications. Adgraphix claims it can now experiment with different media without compromising the fast turnaround that digital printing offers.

“One client required us to print directly onto flat stones. Between us, we managed to work out a system which allowed us to print an image onto different sized and shaped stones with minimal set-up time,” says Shore.

The HP Scitex FB6300 is an industrial inkjet printer that can print images up to 78.7” x 118” (2m x 3m) on substrates up to 1.57” (40mm) thick. With a throughput of up to 36 metres square per hour, high quality, long-lasting graphics can be produced on-demand.
