Agfa get busy with Dotrix at drupa

Agfa Graphics used drupa  as the lynch-pin for the local release of its high speed industrial digital press the Dotrix Modular.

Having been commercially available in Europe for some time now, Agfa has spent several months making initial presentations with interested parties in both Australia and New Zealand.

"I guess the approach is one of around the church," said oceania regional president for Agfa Graphics, Frederik Dehing (pictured below). "The technology has been developed at our Belgian headquarters, so it makes sense for the first commercial deliveries to be close to home. But now the technology is very much proven and we are looking to install the first units here in Oceania some time post drupa."

Dehing who will be part of the Australian & New Zealand contingent from Agfa was looking forward to presenting the machine to Agfa's many interested parties. "We are open for business in Hall 8a from next Thursday (29/5) and we have demonstrations booked everyday with businesses from our region. The timing for this technology is right, and as such the early adopters will achieve significant quality, efficiencies and marketing advantages over companies that are still firmly grounded in the analogue world."

Dehing, will be joined in Dusseldorf by a comprehensive local team that includes Garry Muratore, Koni Neuhofer, Steve Taylor, Harry Kontogiannis, Paul Garside and sales teams from the various offices across the region.

" The Dotrix Modular is the most productive industrial full colour inkjet press available today," said Steve Taylor, Agfa's business manager for industrial inkjet printing. "This versatile engine prints on various types of substrates, including heat-sensitive, pressure-sensitive and in-mould labels. Point of Purchase & displays as well packaging are printing applications that we are targeting with this machine. The samples we are producing are eye-popping, and our plan at drupa is to showcase the flexibility of the Dotrix Modular in two distinct applications being flexible packaging on one machine and folding cartons on a second."
