Australian Graphic Servicing (AGS) has secured a deal to distribute UV/aqueous coating systems manufactured by US company Kompac Technologies.
AGS will be the exclusive agent for Kompac products in Australia and New Zealand, selling and servicing the full range of Kompac UV/aqueous coating systems, consumables, and parts.
“Kompac products are unlike anything else in the market,” says Ross Gilberthorpe, marketing manager for AGS. “It is a worldwide company based in the USA that has been in the industry for many years. They have reinvented themselves by creating an entire range of coating systems for both offset and digital printers.
“A lot of printers might need to go from one coating to another, say, aqueous to UV. The time change for this would normally be up to an hour, but with Kompac’s systems it can be done in five minutes,” says Gilberthorpe. “For a digital printer with short runs, that might require different coatings for different jobs, the Kompac coating systems can be changed quickly, saving a lot of time. Consistency and quality when coating is important, and this is what sets Kompac apart.”
To mark the official launch in Australia, AGS will be holding an open-house on March 30-31, where they will be demonstrating the EZ Koat 20 Plus. With products available for sheets or web, Kompac’s coating and curing systems provide an easy way to apply UV, aqueous, primer & specialty coatings to a wide variety of substrates including those that are digitally printed.
“We believe that AGS is the ideal partner for Kompac,” says Peter Farmer, director of international sales for New Jersey-based Kompac. “AGS is a service based company, which is exactly what we were looking for. They can develop and support the Kompac range of equipment and distribute our spare parts throughout Australia and New Zealand.”
Melbourne-based AGS is a leading provider of services, consumables, equipment sales and spare parts to the printing industry throughout Australia.
