Amcor Flexibles Asia Pacific’s Christchurch plant has won the Supreme award as well as best packaging at New Zealand’s 25thannual Pride In Print Awards held at Auckland’s Sky City Convention Centre.
The winning entry for Farrah’s Fajita Spice Mix was described by the judges as “a stunning example of multi process production executed at the highest levels ensuring the customer is presented with a clean sharp looking job that will stand out on the supermarket shelves. The job is testament to a well-executed piece of kiwi print excellence. To produce a multi process job like this in New Zealand keeping the skills and knowledge on shore is outstanding, especially in the very cost competitive environment we work in."
“We have won the Supreme award before, but this time is even better,” said Amcor’s Mark Thian. "Every department at the plant in Christchurch had a hand in producing the product."
Award manager Sue Archibald says Amcor Flexibles produce excellent packaging for high-end clients. The manufacturing process, she says, for this type of packaging is highly complex and often done in Asia, “so it is fantastic that New Zealanders are doing such high-quality work.”
PMP NZ won the Publications ~ Web Heatset award for its magazine job Farmers Beauty for retailer Farmers. "Beautiful print job” said the judges. “Excellent printing finished in line. The quality of print is outstanding for the size of the run of 810,000 copies."
Format Print, a Blue Star company, won Publications ~ Sheetfed for the WOW Awards Book. "This one stood out from the crowd,” the judges said. “The vibrant colours and images were beautiful, strong rich blacks were in perfect register, and the spot UV used on the cover was in perfect registration – it was just a perfect piece of work from the stunning and clever design through to its finish."
