And the GEON juggernaut rolls on ...
The takeover is a part of PE-funded GEON's strategy to rapidly expand in both print and mail throughout the Australian market. This purchase brings the group to a total of 24 businesses, 13 in Australia and the other 11 in New Zealand. It continues the stiff competition with Blue Star Print Group Australia, which has also been busy buying big with the recent acquisition of National Capital Printing.
Dynamic Press, located on the northern beaches of Dee Why, Sydney was established in 1965 by Arie van Weeren and is now run by his two sons, Hans and Richard van Weeren, who will continue to manage the business through its transition process.
Welcoming the sale, Hans spoke positively of becoming joining GEON. "We are very pleased that Dynamic Press is now part of the GEON Group," he said. "It will allow us to provide our customers and staff with new opportunities and will help us to meet the challenges of a competitive marketplace."
Gordon Towell, GEON group chief executive said that Dynamic Press was chosen because it would provide New South Wales customers with a broader product and service offering.
"Dynamic Press is an exceptional company that is highly regarded in its key market sectors with a blue chip customer base. We believe it will make a strong and immediate contribution to the GEON Group," he said.
With tongues wagging about what GEON will buy next, and how soon it will happen, one industry source commented that: "If GEON can prove to keep the company running the way it is, it will prove to be the jewel in the crown."
