Angus Scott parts company with Brissett Rollers
The high-profile industry identity left the company defending himself against accusations of a conflict of interest in holding shares in the Cheltenham business. He denies playing any active role in the operations of the opposition company while in the employ of Brissetts.
“They considered it a conflict of interest but at no time was I active in the company while working for Brissetts,” he said.
Terry Brissett, managing director of Brissett Rollers, said he was “disappointed, but not angry” at the turn of events. He reaffirmed his commitment to the Lidcombe operation with the installation of new equipment and assured the personnel of his continuing support.
“We have a good team working there under Ted Cleaver. They’re a great bunch,” he said. “I just want to move on.”
The fully-owned business will continue to trade under the Art Rollers name, because, as Terry Brissett says, “everyone knows it’s Brissett’s anyway.”
Brissett Rollers is the largest supplier of printing rollers to the local industry with a long tradition of innovation, product development and manufacturing skills. It exports rollers to Asian markets as well as supplying local demand.
According to Angus Scott, he will now be working with the co- owners of Rollmakers, Januar Sidiprasetija and Fergus Forsyth to grow the business in the graphic and industrial roller markets.
"We will be forming partnerships with principal graphic supply companies to enhance our range of products," he said.
