Anitech launch 3D print substrate

Patented 3D design and print media, PURE3D launched in Australia by Anitech is a new substrate that images in 3D, viewable without the need for special eye wear.

The new substrate allows four colour print and imaging with anywhere from three to five perceptual dimensions on an ultra-thin, fully recyclable polypropylene substrate.

Both sides can be printed via flatbed UV litho, conventional litho, screen print and UV digital.

Neil Gomez, BDM of consumables at Anitech says the new media can be produced without the need for specialist software and is ideal for packaging, print, marketing and promotional companies.

“PURE3D sets new horizons for designers and brand managers so that fresh, memorable, powerful eye-popping messages can be realised straight from the printer without any complex setup or aftermarket 3D glasses necessary,” said Gomez.

Applications include, POP, POS, backlit displays, posters, packaging such as DVD covers, printed covers and inserts, direct mail pieces, business and promotional cards.

PURE3D’s ability to accept opaque whites and metallics allow additional image depth to be created and its double-sided printability means coatings and varnishes can be added for additional effects.

According to Gomez, all of the print processes need to be UV curable. There will be subsequent rollable producible products launched that will be both solvent and water based print compatible.”
