ANZ banks on LEP Colour Printers purchase

Sunshine Coast company, LEP Colour Printers, is the latest recruit in the private equity march as ANZ buys the business.

The news comes as former manager, Mike Brooks, leaves the printing industry behind and new CEO, John Bromfield, steps up to drive LEP into the future. Bromfield, (pictured) said that the acquisition allows the company to continue the reputation of the business which was opened seven years ago by Brooks.

"With such a strong financial backer, [as ANZ's private equity arm] we have the ability to further invest in the business so as to facilitate growth and improve on our already high levels of customer service," he said.

Brooks has now entered retirement, but Bromfield hopes to maintain the standards that he set. "ANZ saw Mike's unique approach to the printing industry and felt that there was an opportunity to expand the customer base and his business model."

Bromfield pointed to LEP's soon-to-be-released online order and job-tracking system, Electronic Submission Print, which allows customers to track their jobs from prepress to dispatch as one of these improvements.

Being placed in the hands of ANZ will not see the company's work ethic change in any way, according to Bromfield.

"LEP's key philosophies will not change," he said. "We will be working to build on these in order to strengthen and prepare the business for further growth."
